2. The Service

Scopulars NETA is a network security scanning service for systems you own. It performs port scanning, matches detected service versions to published CVEs, discovers subdomains of domains you have verified, maps findings to compliance framework control numbers for reference (this is informational and is not a compliance assessment), provides AI-written summaries, and produces reports from those results. The features available to you depend on your plan.

The Service reports on the security posture of systems as observed at a point in time. It is a diagnostic tool, not a guarantee. We do not warrant that it will identify every vulnerability, that its findings are free of false positives or false negatives, or that acting on its output will make a system secure. You remain responsible for your own security decisions.

3. Accounts and organizations

  • You must provide an accurate email address and keep your credentials confidential. You are responsible for all activity under your account.
  • Each account belongs to an organization. Adding members to an organization is not currently offered; where an organization already has more than one member, every member can see that organization’s scans, findings and reports.
  • You must be at least 18 years old and legally capable of entering into a contract, and you must not use the Service if you are barred from doing so under applicable law. If you register on behalf of an organization, you confirm that you are authorized to bind it to these Terms.
  • Paid plans are sold to businesses only. When you buy a paid plan you declare, at checkout, that you are purchasing on behalf of a business and not as a consumer, and we record that declaration.

4. Authorization to scan — the central obligation

Security scanning sends real traffic to real systems. You may only direct the Service at systems that you or the business you act for own, and that you have verified in the Service with a DNS record or a verification file. The Service does not currently offer scanning of third-party systems, even with the owner’s permission. This obligation is set out in full in our Acceptable Use Policy, which forms part of these Terms. We verify target ownership technically before scanning, and attempting to circumvent that verification is a material breach of these Terms.

5. Plans, fees and billing

Paid subscriptions are not yet enabled; today the Service is available on the Free plan only and nobody is charged. This section states the terms that will apply once paid plans are switched on, so that they are visible in advance rather than introduced at checkout.

A Free plan is available. Paid plans are sold to businesses only (section 3). The paid Pro plan is offered at $29 per month or $276 per year, in US dollars, exclusive of any taxes that we are required to collect. Enterprise arrangements are not sold self-service — contact support@scopulars.net.

  • No free trial is offered on paid plans.
  • Subscriptions renew automatically for the same period until cancelled. Payments are processed by Stripe; we do not receive or store your card number.
  • Cancellation. You may cancel at any time from the Stripe Customer Portal, reachable from your billing settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the paid period; you keep paid features until then.
  • Entitlement is per organization. If any member of your organization holds an active Pro subscription, the organization is treated as Pro.
  • If a payment fails, paid features may be suspended until the payment succeeds.
  • We may change prices. A new price is published on this page with a new version date and applies from your first renewal after that date, so you can cancel before it takes effect. We do not currently operate an announcement mailing list, so please check this page.

5.1 Refunds

14-day full refund. You may request a full refund of any payment within 14 days of the date of that payment, for any reason. To request one, email support@scopulars.net from the address on your account. We refund to the original payment method through Stripe and cancel the subscription that payment was for.

After those 14 days, payments are not refunded, including for partial periods and unused time. When you cancel, you retain access until the end of the period you already paid for and are not charged again. This does not override any refund or withdrawal right that applicable law grants you and that cannot be waived by agreement.

6. Your content and our use of it

You retain all rights to the targets, configurations, scan results and reports associated with your account (“Your Content”). You grant us only the licence needed to operate the Service for you: to store, process and transmit Your Content in order to run scans, generate findings and reports, and provide support. How this works in practice, including which third parties receive data, is described in the Privacy Policy.

7. Availability

We do not offer a service-level agreement. The Service is provided on an as-available basis and may be interrupted for maintenance, upgrades, third-party outages or reasons outside our control.

8. Suspension and termination

  • You may stop using the Service at any time. You can close your account yourself from Settings → Security → Delete account; this is permanent and irreversible, and what happens to your data — and to your organization, if it has other members — is described in section 5 of the Privacy Policy. Self-service deletion is refused while you are the last administrator of an organization that still has other members (changing roles is not currently available in the product, so write to us in that case), and is unavailable if you sign in only through SSO; section 7.1 of the Privacy Policy sets out these and the other cases, and in all of them we will erase the account on request.
  • Deleting your account ends a paid subscription immediately. If you have an active subscription when you delete, we cancel it at Stripe as part of the deletion — it does not run to the end of the period you have already paid for. The unused remainder is not refunded automatically; if the payment was made within the last 14 days you can still request a full refund under section 5.1. If you only want to stop being charged while keeping access until the period ends, cancel through the Customer Portal instead of deleting your account. Two consequences we would rather state than have you discover: if your organization has other members and it was your subscription paying for it, cancelling it drops the whole organization back to the Free plan; and because the cancellation happens before the deletion, a deletion that then fails leaves you with an account that still exists and a subscription that is already cancelled — the error message says so, and you would need to subscribe again.
  • If the cancellation itself cannot be completed, we abandon the deletion entirely rather than leave a subscription billing an account that no longer exists.
  • We may suspend or terminate your access, without prior notice, if we reasonably believe you are scanning systems you do not own, attempting to circumvent target-ownership verification, or otherwise breaching the Acceptable Use Policy, or if required by law.
  • We may terminate for other reasons with reasonable notice. On termination, your access ends and your data is handled as described in the Privacy Policy.

9. Disclaimer of warranties

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including any implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy or non-infringement.

10. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, nor for lost profits, lost revenue, lost data, business interruption, or damage to systems you scanned or caused to be scanned.

Our total aggregate liability arising out of or relating to the Service and these Terms is limited to the greater of (a) the amount you actually paid us for the Service in the twelve months before the event giving rise to the claim, or (b) fifty US dollars ($50). Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.

11. Indemnity

You will indemnify and hold us harmless against claims, damages and costs (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your use of the Service in breach of these Terms or the Acceptable Use Policy, and in particular from any scan you directed at a system you do not own.

12. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms. When we do, the updated text is published here and the version identifier at the top of this page changes. We do not currently push notifications about such changes, so please check this page from time to time. Continuing to use the Service after a change is published means you accept the updated Terms.

13. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Estonia; the Harju County Court (Harju Maakohus) has exclusive jurisdiction. This does not deprive you of the protection of mandatory consumer-law provisions of the country in which you reside.
